In the spirit of Independence Day, let’s talk freedom. Freedom is one of my top three core values. Whether it’s one of yours or not, I think it’s something we all value in some shape or form.
As a ghostwriter, I get the privilege of helping add a dose of freedom to your life. Let’s imagine two different worlds.
In the first world, you decide to write your own book. You sit down at your desk (again) every night after the kids go to bed. Or you wake up before the Sun to get some quiet time in before you start your day. You take the spare time of your weekends to string some cohesive sentences together to keep making progress.
In the second world, you decide to partner with a ghostwriter. You meet with them for 60-90 minutes once every 1 to 2 weeks. You snag an extra few hours of sleep at night. You enjoy a slower morning with your cup of coffee. You head to the farmers’ market on your weekend mornings. And when needed, you provide feedback and input on the various rounds of your manuscript.
Which one sounds like more freedom to you?
Let’s talk about the specific ways ghostwriters help give you a slice of freedom.
Freedom of Time
The most well-known way that a ghostwriter helps create freedom in your life is through the gift of time. We relieve you of the heavy lifting.
We’re taking the time to put the pieces together in a way that makes sense, to put the words on paper, and to do initial reviews before the manuscript even hits your inbox. These are all very time-consuming tasks.
The beautiful thing is that you get to offload this work to the ghostwriter while still ensuring the book has the essence of you. You’re still providing the information and stories that should go in the book, and you get to do that conversationally. You’re still reviewing and providing input on the manuscript, and when you get the manuscript, it’s pretty well polished so you can focus on the meat and potatoes. You’re still having your voice infused into the book by giving that feedback.
Your time is spent on the things that make you unique and showcase the value you can add for your readers and audience.
Freedom of Thought
One of the less obvious ways that we help give you some freedom is by reducing your mental load.
If you were to write your book yourself, not only would you have to think about the information and stories you want to include, you’d also have to figure the rest out. What is the rest?
For starters, you’d have to figure out how to write a book. Then you’d have to think about how you want to structure it, how to tie the stories and teachings together, how to make the whole book cohesive, and how to keep the reader top of mind while writing.
I believe people often don’t think about the weight of these parts of the process. For me, writing takes less mental energy than thinking about how all the pieces are going to fit together.
When you work with a ghostwriter, you get to free up space in your brain to think about the things that are important to you and are in your area of genius. You get to speak about and act on the things that you are passionate about.
Freedom to Explore
When you work with a ghostwriter, you get access to their trusted network of professionals. Instead of writing the book and then figuring out not only what type of publishing route you want to take but also who to engage, you can trust the recommendations coming your way.
A quality ghostwriter will have professionals they can refer you to that they feel will be a good fit for you and help you be successful. This gives you freedom to explore. Instead of being worried about if you’re going to get scammed by someone who is pitching you, you can trust that the recommendations in front of you are solid and explore your options with peace of mind.
This allows you to think more clearly about what type of downstream work you’d like done, how that could take shape, and who might be the best fit for you, rather than operating from a place of fear of choosing the wrong provider.
When it really comes down to it, you gain an immense amount of freedom by being able to partner with a trusted expert on your book. If this sounds appealing to you, request a book consult using the button below.
